In collaboration with HumanRights360, an ambitious and innovative program to provide legal aid to the homeless population was launched in August 2020.
In the midst of the pandemic in Athens, many people found themselves in a state of marginal survival. Homeless people, users of psychoactive substances, sex workers, refugees, asylum seekers, immigrants, people without legal documents, prisoners, people with mental health problems.
Through this report, we present the results of these nine months and the significant impact on the support population.
Nine months later, the program not only continues to successfully support our most vulnerable fellow human beings, but has also managed to expand its team, highlighting in the clearest way the need for an ongoing support network for the homeless.
From April 2022 until March 2023, the Street Lawyering program is co-financed by the donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and by the same resources of the organizations Steps and HumanRights360.
